Bombala is a small town located in the Monaro region of New South Wales, Australia. While the town may be small, it offers a rich history and culture that is reflected in its numerous galleries, museums and historical venues. Here is a list of some of the most noteworthy places to visit:

1. Bombala Historic Railway Station

The Bombala Historic Railway Station is one of the most prominent landmarks in the town. Located on the corner of Maybe and Railway Streets, the station was built in 1921 and is listed on the New South Wales State Heritage Register. The station remains operational and is served by the twice-daily NSW TrainLink service between Sydney and Canberra.

2. Bombala Railway Museum

Just next to the Bombala Historic Railway Station lies the Bombala Railway Museum which was established in 2003. The Museum showcases the rich railway history of Bombala and the Monaro region. The exhibits include the history of the railway line, historic artefacts, and models of trains and carriages.

3. Bombala Historical Museum

Located just off Maybe Street, the Bombala Historical Museum is a must-visit for anyone interested in the history of the town and its surrounding region. The Museum has a vast collection of artefacts, documents and photographs that depict the lives of the people of the region. The displays cover a wide range of subjects including agriculture, industry, mining, military and domestic life.

4. Bombala Courthouse

Located on Maybe Street, the Bombala Courthouse was built in 1889 and is a perfect example of Victorian architecture. The courthouse is still in use and is one of the oldest courthouses in New South Wales. Visitors can see the courtroom, courtroom furniture, and a display of legal regalia.

5. Bombala War Memorial

The Bombala War Memorial is located on the corner of Maybe Street and Monaro Highway. The monument commemorates the sacrifice of the soldiers who lost their lives during World War I, World War II, the Korean War, the Malayan Emergency and the Vietnam War. The Memorial was built in 1920 and has been continuously maintained by the community.

6. Bombala Historic Bridges

Bombala has two historic bridges. The first bridge is the Doubtful Creek Bridge, located on the Cooma Road about five kilometres from the town. The bridge was built in 1899 and spans the Doubtful Creek. The second bridge is the Middlingbank Bridge which is located about sixteen kilometres east of the town. The bridge was built in 1893 and spans the Bombala River.

7. Bombala Art Gallery

The Bombala Art Gallery is located on Maybe Street and showcases the work of local artists. The gallery is housed in a historic building that was once a bank. The Gallery also hosts a number of exhibitions throughout the year.

8. Delegate Heritage Walk

Located on the eastern outskirts of the town, the Delegate Heritage Walk is a 1.2 km walking track that takes visitors to some of the most historic places in the district. The walk has ten interpretive signs that provide information on the history of the area, including the old police station, the Delegate River, and the historic township.
